DSIP — Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide
DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a naturally occurring neuropeptide first isolated in the 1970s and studied for its possible role in sleep regulation, stress response, and neuroendocrine function. Despite its name, researchers have not established that DSIP simply “induces sleep”; its biology appears more complex, and human evidence remains limited.
DSIP has been investigated for its potential to influence sleep architecture, particularly slow-wave/deep sleep, and for possible effects on stress-related hormone signaling and circadian regulation. Some early research also explored possible relationships with pain perception and recovery, but these effects have not been established as clinical benefits.
It is not an FDA-approved treatment for insomnia or other sleep disorders, and claims about improved sleep quality, recovery, or reduced anxiety should be presented as areas of research rather than proven benefits.
